New GPU nodes added to Notchpeak
Date Posted: May 8th, 2019
We have recently added four new general gpu nodes to notchpeak. The new nodes are
- notch004 – with 2 RTX2080Ti and 1 P40 GPUs. This node has 32 physical cpu cores, 192 GB of memory
- notch[086-088] – each with 4 RTX2080Ti GPUs, 40 physical cpu cores, 192 GB memory
In addition, two new owner gpu nodes ( each with 4 RTX2080Ti) have also been added to notchpeak. One of these has 40 physical cpu cores, 192 GB memory, the other 32 cores, 384 GB memory.
Details on all of the gpu nodes on the CHPC clusters along with information on using these nodes is provided at https://www.chpc.utah.edu/documentation/guides/gpus-accelerators.php
Please note:
- the gpu nodes should only be used for jobs that are using the gpus
- the use of gpu nodes does not require an allocation, nor does the usage count against groups with a general allocation
- As many codes cannot efficiently use multiple gpus in a single job, the gpu nodes are run in a node sharing manner
- to be given access to the gpu node slurm accounts, please send a request to helpdesk@chpc.utah.edu – if you have already have access to the older notchpeak gpu nodes then you have access to the new additional nodes
As always, please submit any questions to helpdesk@chpc.utah.edu
