Presentation description

Modules is an environment management tool which makes modifying the user's shell environment simple and dynamic.  CHPC moved to the use of modules Feb 2015. The advantage of modules primarily comes from the capability to load and unload the environment needed for a given software package, allowing users to quickly and easily start using programs or switch development environments.

In this session we will focus on how modules are organized and how to use modules on CHPC resources.  Users with CHPC can come with laptops if preferred to run the various module commands as they are discussed.
